WHO WE ARE :
S.D.E.M. has been formed as a  consortium of devoted educationists and social workers with an ambition to spread real and life-building education from an early stage of the learner. We restlessly endeavor and research for the total upgradation of the process of learning, without interrupting ‘formal education’ of the School Boards. We emphasize child-centric learning in a joyful manner to develop the ‘basic concepts’ of STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Our slogan : Don’t just read the lessons, apply them.

LEGAL STATUS :
Our organization is registered as a charitable trust under Section 60 and Rule 69 by Additional Registrar of Assurance, Kolkata. SEDM is recognized as an Autonomous Body by the Government of West Bengal.

OUR ACTIVITIES :

1). Written Exams :
 A. Our Olympiad exam on English and Mathematics (for the learners of Class III to VIII) is different from other so-called talent search tests. We stress on conceptual learning, instead of memorization. In math, we evaluate the level of logical thinking and problem solving skills of the examinees. Questions are interesting, but tricky and can be answered only, if basic concept is cleared. It’s true that all learners are not familiar with such ‘different’ pattern; so, some common, easy-to-understand questions, directly from their lessons taught in the schools, are also assorted with them. Classwise Guide Books are available for step-by-step preparation. Even we also arrange seminars in some schools for an overview and doubt clearing of the enrolled students.

B. Apart from Olympiad, we organize Primary Scholarship Exam for the learners of Standard IV of English, Hindi, Bengali medium schools. Questions are simple here and comparatively easy to answer.

2). STEM Exploration :
Children's Knowledge Hub : We develop creativity and hidden talent of the children. Olympiad coaching, Computer, Abacus, Play with Science, Nature observation, Math for Fun, Spoken English etc are taught in a joyful manner to build a strong foundation and grow confidence, so that they can face the challenge of the highly competitive future world.

3). Publishing & Distribution :
Besides guidebooks for Olympiad and Primary Scholarship exams, we publish books and periodicals at no-profit-no-loss basis.

4). Social Work Network :
We have tie up with several NGOs to implement Government projects and Employment Generation Schemes for SHGs.
